Student Selection
Secondary School Students in Kenya write a country wide examination in November at the end of Standard (grade) eight. Their marks are available the first week in January. Students bring their marks to the KEEF office and an application is filled out by a KEEF (Canada) agent or appointee.Criteria for student selection will be that he/she is needy, living in Kakamega County in Kenya and has sufficient exam scores.
KEEF (Canada) will decide on a base point score against which a student's progress will be evaluated.
At a specified date the student will return for a personal interview with KEEF Canada representatives.
A visit may be made to the student's village to confirm their economic need.
The number of students selected will depend on the number of sponsors available in any given year.
